There's definitely been an increase in the number of bloggers suggesting gift ideas for lawyers since I launched my first holiday gift guide for lawyers in 2005. This year there seems to be a good number of ideas in addition to mine, so I thought I'd highlight the best ones:
My friends Sharon Nelson and Jim Calloway at The Digital Edge have been suggesting gift ideas for a long time too, focussing on tech gifts for lawyers. Lots of great ideas in their 2014 edition including the Nod, Microsoft Surface 3, and Nixie flyable video camera.
The good folks at Affinity Consulting also have a tech spin to their 2014 Tech Gift Guide for lawyers. How I missed the Monitor Mounted Rearview Mirror so you can see who sneaks up behind you, I'll never know!
Ed Silverstein at Inside Counsel does a terrific job of pointing out ten perfect holiday gifts for lawyers. He's got a thing for lawyer games like I do!
The ABA Journal has pinned some great gift ideas on their Pinterest board, although I really hope they unpin the cliche "Scales of Justice" clock.
Tim Baran at Legal Productivity has found 15 great ideas under $30 for "legal productivity geeks" so that must include lawyers too. I especially loved the Pocket Monkey and iPhoto Picture Book.
Finally, the Goodson Blogson from the J. Michael Goodson Law Library at Duke has some less expensive gift ideas aimed at law students, but I think they are great ideas for lawyers too!
If you haven't seen my 2014 gift guide, you can view it here with the other nine annual editions in reverse chronological order.
