I'm a fan of cloud computing, but this article troubles me. Hackers are renting massive amounts of server time at low cloud computing prices to run password hacking programs to crack wireless networks to steal passwords, passphrases and more. These programs can run 400,000 possible passwords or more per second.
To be clear, this does not make me less of a cloud computing fan, it just makes be realize that the positive power and low cost structure of cloud computing can also be used for nefarious purposes. Above all, it means we need to use better passwords and change them more frequently.
