Based on Apple's astounding success with their App Store, several phone makers have or will soon follow with their own versions of on-line application stores. (I have over two dozen apps on my iPhone and I continue to be amazed at their usefulness and, in some instances, their playfulness!) These apps really expand the functionality of phones beyond the applications that come installed on the phone.
